Other Southern Sierra Partnership Resources

SSP members are involved in a wide range of planning, stewardship and restoration activities.  Much of this work has implications for land management across the region, including the following:
  • Research by Audubon California has shown that open-top vertical pipes are a serious threat to birds and other wildlife.  But this hazard can be easily (and inexpensively) addressed by closing, capping, screening or removing the pipes.  To learn more, read Audubon California's factsheet.

  • Audubon California has also researched the hazard posed by monofilament fishing line, which kills wildlife indiscriminately when discarded outside.  To learn more, read Audubon California's factsheet on monofilament line.
  • Along with other stakeholders throughout the region, Sequoia Riverlands Trust and Sierra Business Council have been actively involved in the San Joaquin Valley Greenprint.  While the Greenprint is an ongoing process, it has already produced a natural resource inventory (the State of the Valley Report), and a clearinghouse of related data.
